Fmr. state rep. Carol Owens dies

OSHKOSH — Former Wisconsin state representative Carol Owens passed away Saturday at her home.

She was 81.

Owens was born in Wabeno.

She began her political career as a town clerk.And then became a county board supervisor in Winnebago County.

Owens was elected to the 53rd Assembly District in 1992.    

She held that post until her retirement in 2008.

Owens leaves behind four children.
