COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — President Barack Obama has made his final election pitch to thousands of people in the battleground state of Ohio.
Obama appeared Monday afternoon at Nationwide Arena near downtown Columbus with rocker Bruce Springsteen and rapper Jay Z.
Obama supporter Jennifer Walker said she took the day off to see Obama. The 38-year-old nurse said she supports the president because of his push for the federal health care overhaul.
Walker and others stood in lines curling around several city blocks waiting to get into the event. A small group of abortion protesters gathered nearby.
Those who didn't get in stood nearby and watched the event broadcast on a large screen.
GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney also was making a pitch to voters in Columbus on Monday evening.
