Christie to stump for Thompson in Green Bay

MADISON (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie plans to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Tommy Thompson in Wisconsin later this month.

Thompson's campaign announced Monday that Christie will appear with Thompson on Oct. 17 in Green Bay. More details were not announced.

Thompson calls Christie a "battle-tested reformer who knows how to make the tough decisions."

Thompson faces Democrat Tammy Baldwin in the race for Wisconsin's open Senate seat. Both Baldwin and Thompson debated for the first time Friday night. Their next debate is scheduled for the day after the Christie visit. That debate is in Wausau.
