GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — State Sen. Scott Fitzgerald is issuing a "call to arms" to Wisconsin Republicans to rebuff June 5 recalls targeting him, Gov. Scott Walker and four others.
Fitzgerald spoke Saturday at the state Republican Party convention in Green Bay.
He is urging Republicans to make more phone calls, put up more yard signs and drop off more campaign literature to help win the recalls. Fitzgerald says "This is going to be won on the streets of Wisconsin. These recalls will be won in the trenches. We have a ton of work to do in the next 25 days."
His brother, Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald, says June 5 is the most important day in political history.
And Scott Fitzgerald says Wisconsin is at a crossroad in its political history.
