State employees honored

MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker wants to recognize state employees.

Walker declared Wednesday State Employee Recognition Day. He also announced an awards program for state employees would continue for the second straight year.

Last year’s program included three awards. The award for outstanding customer service was won by Sue Van Lanen of the Department of Workforce Development. The award for outstanding innovation was won by Kathy Johnson of the Department of Health Services. The award for ongoing dedication was won by Lori Grinwald of the Department of Corrections and Richard Clark of the Department of Workforce Development.

Members of the public are invited to nominate state workers. The deadline is June 30.
