Moulton's campaign has cash edge

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State Sen. Terry Moulton has raised $118,000 this year, giving him a significant cash-on-hand advantage over his likely Democratic opponent in next month's recall election.

Moulton's report that lists his campaign fundraising was posted online Tuesday by the state elections agency. It shows the Chippewa Falls Republican has about $196,000 cash on hand.

That gives him a substantial edge over Democrat and former state Rep. Kristin Dexter. Her campaign reported raising about $102,000 and holding $47,000 in cash.

Dexter will square off in a Democratic primary next week against James Engel, a Fall Creek Republican who is running as a fake Democrat. The winner faces Moulton on June 5.

Moulton is one of several Republicans targeted for recall for supporting efforts to restrict collective-bargaining rights for most public employees.
