MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says if he's elected governor, he'll create jobs by investing in wind power and other clean-energy technology.
Barrett blasted Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday, saying Walker campaigned in 2010 on the promise of creating 250,000 jobs but then used his office to pursue an ideological agenda instead.
Barrett says Wisconsin needs a governor who will truly focus on job creation.
Before Barrett can face the Republican Walker in a recall election in June, he has to beat three other Democrats in a primary next month. But Barrett is already looking past the primary, saying his focus is only on Walker.
Walker's campaign says Barrett has a poor record of creating jobs in Milwaukee. Barrett says that's because he never received any cooperation from the governor's office.
