La Follette turns in nomination forms

MADISON (AP) — Democratic Secretary of State Doug La Follette says he has turned in more than enough signatures to get on the ballot in the recall election against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

All four Democrats hoping to win the party's nomination to take on Walker in the June 5 recall election turned in signatures Tuesday. The primary is May 8.

Other Democrats running are Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk and state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, of Alma.

Each of them needed to turn in at least 2,000 valid signatures by 5 p.m. Tuesday to qualify to get on the ballot.

Tuesday was also the deadline for candidates running for lieutenant governor and in four state Senate districts where Republican incumbents are also targeted for recall.
