Luck of the draw lands man on board

WAUSAU (AP) — The winner in a Marathon County election for the Board of Supervisors has come down to the luck of the cards.

Oliver Burrows and John Rhyner each received a race-high two write-in votes last week for the District 19 position.

Officials in the county clerk's office settled the tie Tuesday by drawing playing cards on behalf of the candidates to determine the winner.

A jack came up for Burrows, while an 8 came up for Rhyner.

A WAOW-TV report says Burrows plans to accept the position.
