Zima unseated in GB City Council race

GREEN BAY — A longtime Green Bay alderman has been unseated.

James Warner defeated Guy Zima Tuesday in the Green Bay City Council District 9 race.

With all three precincts counted the final tally was 739 to 631.

"They've agreed it's time for a positive change. So, I'm very excited but the first thing I would like to do as I said I would at everybody's door is thank my opponent for his 30 years of dedication and service to the district," said Warner.

"I'm going to sleep as well tonight whether I'd won or lost. And, I'm just grateful for the many years of service that I was able to give to the people," said Zima.

Zima has been a member of the Green Bay City Council since 1976. He ran unopposed for the Brown County Board.

Three other Green Bay City Council incumbents lost: Christopher Wery, Steven Deneys and Patrick Buckley.
