Falk says Barrett shouldn't run

MADISON (AP) — Democrat Kathleen Falk says Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett had his chance to defeat Republican Gov. Scott Walker and now he should back her candidacy.

Barrett is considering running against Walker in a recall election but hasn't announced his intentions. Both he and Falk are attacked in a new ad by the Republican Governors Association that went on the air Friday.

Falk said Friday that Barrett had his chance in 2010 to defeat Walker and she supported his campaign then. She says he should now support her campaign.

Falk has been outspoken against Walker for more than a year, helping with the recall petition drive and lining up support from unions and others in advance of the recall.

Barrett says he will announce his plans by April 3.
