GAB asks clerks about recall dates

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin state elections board is asking local election clerks for their opinions on five possible scenarios for holding recall elections against Gov. Scott Walker and five others.

The Government Accountability Board sent clerks the survey on Wednesday.

Without a judge's order, if the board determines there are enough signatures on petitions to order recalls the primary election would be May 1 and the general election would be May 29.

The board is asking clerks about four other possibilities, with the latest possible one being May 29 for the primary and June 26 for the general election.

Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and four Republican senators face possible recall elections.

The board was to discuss survey results at its meeting Monday.
