Kleefisch, the daughter of David and Marijo Reed, was born in Michigan and raised in northwestern Ohio. Rebecca has one sister, Sarah, who resides in Washington County, Iowa.
When she wasn’t catching crawfish and snails, Rebecca studied dance at the Toledo Ballet before spending her high school years teaching children tap and ballet at her mother’s dance studio in her hometown. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from high school with honors in 1993.
In 1997, Rebecca took a job reporting the news for then-CBS affiliate WIFR-TV in Rockford, Illinois. Quickly promoted to morning anchor, Rebecca’s reporting skills caught the eye of Milwaukee ABC affiliate, WISN-TV, where she continued her career in 1999. It was the same year she married another WISN-TV reporter, Joel Kleefisch.
After the birth of her first daughter, Ella, Rebecca retired from television news to work from home. She started her own media and marketing company, Rebecca Kleefisch Enterprises, Inc. to work on rebranding, public relations, media strategy and writing for her clients. Over the years, Rebecca’s award-winning work earned her the trust of all tiers of clients. She has worked with GE Healthcare, Walgreens Corporation, the Milwaukee Public Museum, and others to promote and generate interest for their companies and brands.
